- The first thing that I do is soak my hair with an oil mixture of Olive Oil, Camphor, and Rosemary Oil. I put a plastic cap on and let this sit for 15 minutes to 1 hour. Sometimes with heat and sometimes not. It just depends on my schedule.
- Then I shampoo my hair. The best way to get your hair really clean is in the shower. I use a small shampoo brush to stimulate my scalp and work on any itching. This is the best part! It feels really good. Rinse several times.
- I then rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water. This is not only good for buildup but I believe it is an antifungal and disinfectant. I put the mixture in a color bottle so that I can squeeze it directly on my scalp and hair. That way I am clearing up any bacteria that might be growing on my scalp and also deep cleaning my hair.

This is a color bottle for an example but it actually has jbco in it! - Rinse hair again. Don't leave the ACV mixture in your hair. I try to just do this once a month because too much of it can be drying.
- I use an old tshirt to dry my hair. No towels.
- After towel drying my hair I oil my scalp.

Just a Note...
As I write on this blog I use the word Lock, Dreadlock and Locs interchangeably and in no certain order. All mean the same for me. Some do not like the term "dreadlock" because it indicates that there is something to be dreaded...and our hair is not that so I don't use this word as much.
However, a lot of people call locks dreadlocks. I am not offended by either way. I love my locks and do not feel negative about them. If this term offends you, I am sorry. I hope that you will still feel comfortable on this site.
